As an ex-marine and a retired schoolteacher who has had three major surgeries and suffered numerous deaths of family members and friends in the past 5 years,  it’s obvious to me that some of my depression symptoms were  ”situational.” However, for over 6 decades,  I have  suffered from relatively mild chronic depression managed  with diet, meditation, and exercise.
