I had some doubts about using SAM-e at first, but I was in a position where I was suffering from depression and anxiety and I didn’t want to take a prescription anti-depressant.

Within a week after starting to take SAM-e daily, I noticed that I was able to handle stressful situations much eaiser than ever before. Upon encountering an extremely difficult situation in my personal life I found that I was able to keep it together, and not “go to pieces” like I had in the past. I handled it in a calm and confident manner with no tears (normally my first reaction to any kind of stress).

It seems like I’m sleeping better since I began taking SAM-e as well. I’m not as tired or foggy in the morning, and I have more energy in the afternoons. I definitely will continue taking SAM-e, because so far, it’s been great!

SAM-e Changed My Life!

Before I started using SAM-e, I had a handicapped sticker on my car because walking into the grocery store from the parking lot had just become too painful for me. Now, I can walk for miles without any pain at all, and my leg-press at the gym is up to 300 lbs! I started taking SAM-e in 2002, when my doctor was advising me to get a SECOND knee replacement. I knew that I didn’t want to go through that surgery again, with all of the risks, and the recovery time, so I started looking for an alternative. I started taking SAM-e, and within a week, the pain in my knee started to fade, within a month, it was almost GONE. I was amazed.

It’s ten years later, and I’m still taking SAM-e everyday and still feeling great. I take 100mg 4 times a day, about 20 minutes before I eat. I’ve never had a single side effect from taking SAM-e, and I can say without question that finding out about SAM-e saved me from having to undergo a costly and dangerous surgical procedure that I did not need. If your doctor tells you that a knee replacement is in your future, you might want to ask them about SAM-e, maybe you can save yourself the way I did.

After reading a ton of customer reviews online, I purchased a bottle of Now Foods SAM-e. In the six weeks I’ve been taking SAM-e I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my overall mood. While I’ve tried a lot of different “mood maintence” supplements over the years, I have to admit that SAM-e is truly one of a kind as far as the results I’ve experienced.

In thier most recent tests of SAM-e products, Consumer Labs gave Now Foods SAM-e a good evaluation, and in my opinon they were right to do so, because the quality is excellent. I always read reviews before I buy anything, so I know that I’ll get what I pay for, and it will do what it claims to do. Since you need to take SAM-e everyday in order to maintain it’s effectiveness, I’ve been using the subscription feature on Amazon to make sure I get the best price, and that I don’t run out of this supplement. I reccommend SAM-e to my friends, relatives, and anybody I come across who is struggling with feelings of depression or anxiety. It’s really amazing stuff.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been suffering with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Although I’ve been taking prescription medication to manage these conditions for a long time, I’ve never like the “druggy” feeling I got from my presecriptions, so I decided to take a look at some alternative therapies, and I’m glad I did. So far, I’m very pleased with the effectiveness of SAM-e. SAM-e works just about as well as my presciption anti-depressants, it tones down my bad moods and generally stabilizes me without giving me a bunch of physical side effects. If you suffer from anxiety or depression, I highly reccommend you give SAM-e a try.

When I turned 50 last year I decided I didn’t like working in an office anymore so I switched jobs and went to work outside again doing some physical work for a change. What I found out was that things I could do when I was 25 years old were a lot more difficult as a 40 year old. Specifically, my knees were in constant pain to the point of interfering with my work. After talking to a few friends and my doctor, I decided to try using SAM-e instead of a prescription medication and right away my knees started to feel better. I no longer have any difficulty at work, even when carrying heavy loads, and my sleep and mood have also improved (probably because I’m not in pain anymore!) I feel like a 25 year old again, and I definitely encourage anybody in a situation like the one I was in to give SAM-e a try.

I finally decided to try SAM-e after several years of battling depression and the awful side effects of the presecription antidepressants I was taking to control it. My best friend tried to get me to try SAM-e for almost a year, but I resisted because I thought that if traditional medication couldn’t help my depression, there was no way any kind of “alternative” therpay could possibly work. I could not have been more wrong! When I finally started taking SAM-e, I had been medication free for almost six months, and I was suffering from the symptoms of depresson on a daily basis. Within three days of when I started taking SAM-e, my mood shifted, and I felt my depression float away. It felt like a heavy weight I had been carrying for years was suddenly just GONE, and for the first time in years I felt as though I was actually “depression free” as opposed to just managing my symptoms. I take 200 to 400 mg daily, and I have not had to increase my doage once in the two years I have been taking this supplement. I know that in Europe, SAM-e is available by prescription only, but fortunately I live in the US, and I’m able to get it online or at my pharmacy without a perscription. I’m sure if they ever do make it prescription only, the drug companies will jack the price up, but for now it’s much less expensive than the antidepressants I was taking before. My friend, who is a chriropractor recommended the Life Extension brand, because she uses it in her practice, so that’s the brand I use.

I’m a 47 year old female who was diagnosed with arthritis in 2008. Up until 2011, I was able to manage my pain with over-the-counter pain medication, namely NSAID pain revlievers. However, in the summer of 2011 the pain in my knee joints started to intensify. Very quickly, the arthritic pain in my knees progessed to the point where it was waking me up at night and preventing me from getting a good night’s rest. On the advice of my doctor, I began taking glucosomine and collagen to try and ease my discomfort, but I didn’t notice any positive effects from these supplements. 5 days ago I recieved my order of Life Extension SAM-e in the mail and began taking one tablet a day. I have been taking prescription antidepressants for about 5 years (Paxil), so when I lost my health insurance in July I was really concerned that I would not be able to afford medication to manage my depression. After researching SAM-e online for about a week, I ordered a bottle and was frankly amazed at it’s effectiveness in treating my depression. WIthin just a few days of taking my first dose, I felt a remarkable difference in my mood that I never was able to attain with prescription anti-depressants. It was like a heavy cloud was lifted. While I haven’t felt the euphoria feeling that some people who take SAM-e get, I also haven’t felt like my feelings are numbed or covered up, which was the my main complaint with the way Paxil made me feel. While I’ve read about people needed to take 600mg a day in order to get the positive effects, I’m doing just fine taking 400mg a day. I’m really happy that I made the decision to try an “alternative” solution to my problem with depression, and one that is a lot less expensive than my prescription was! If the big pharmaceutical companies ever find out how well SAM-e works, they’ll probably try to get the government to make it illegal! (I’m kidding, but it’s that good!)

Although I was very skeptical about the claims being made about SAM-e, I decided to try it after reading a review online. Although my depression had reached a point where it was making my life unmanageable, I was terrified of taking a prescription anit-depressant because of all the potentially negative side effects. I’ve always been very cautious about anything I put into my body, and felt the same way about SAM-e initially. It’s been about 5 weeks since I started taking SAM-e, and I have to say, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I started taking 400 mg of SAM-e in the morning, and within the first week I could tell it was having a positive effect on my mood. I was amazed to discover that I felt normal again, and by that I mean that I felt like “myself” for the first time in a long time. Since starting to take SAM-e, my energy has increased, I’m much more upbeat and positive, and I am able to go out and socialize without suffering from terrible social anxiety.

The difference between natural SAM-e and prescription antidepressants is that sam-e does not have any of the negative side effects that other medications can cause. I was concerned about feeling “spacey”, weight gain, and loss of libido, but I did not experience any of those side effects with SAM-e. If it’s taken properly, in the right situation, I think that SAM-e is as close to a miracle drug for depression as anything.

After taking this supplement for about six months, I got cocky, and decided I didn’t need it anymore, so I stopped taking it.To say I was wrong would be the understatement of the year. SAM-e is a tremendous help with the aches and pains I suffer from in my joints and back, and it also has a positive effect on my mood. Once I started taking SAM-e again, all of the benefits, physical and mental, came back right away. If I ever had any doubt that SAM-e works for joint pain and depression, I don’t anymore. I haven’t noticed any side effects worth mentioning, which is a nice change from the pain medication I used to take that would give me terrible nausea. I take 200 mg of SAM-e first thing in the morning with my coffee, and I usually wait about an hour before I eat breakfast. I’ve tried a lot of supplements over the years, and most of them are so-so at best, but SAM-e delivers. Jarrow SAM-e is the only brand I have any experience with, and I don’t think I’ll be trying any others because it really works well for me. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to wake up pain free at my age (57), I guess you could call me a fan!
